Shalaka is Callan's chief financial officer.
Shalaka Kachare is a senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) at Callan. Shalaka is responsible for overseeing the finance department and works closely with the executive leadership team. Her responsibilities include supervising Callan’s accounting and payroll administrations, financial planning, and reporting, defining and implementing accounting policies, and overseeing audits and tax filings. Shalaka is a member of Callan’s Management Committee and is a shareholder of the firm.
Shalaka joined Callan in 2018 as the firm’s controller and was promoted to CFO in 2020. She has extensive experience in the areas of corporate and fund accounting, financial planning and analysis, and taxation. Prior to joining Callan, she was with WestBridge Capital US Advisors LLC in San Mateo, CA, overseeing operational, financial, and accounting matters for WestBridge US and foreign entities. Previously, Shalaka worked as a manager at Symphony Asset Management in its corporate finance department. Shalaka began her professional career at Rothstein, Kass & Co. (now KPMG) where she specialized in providing audit and tax services to alternative investment entities.
Shalaka holds an MBA in finance from Golden Gate University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from California State University, East Bay. She also holds CPA (inactive) and CGMA designations. Shalaka is a member of the San Francisco CFO Leadership Council and the American Institute of CPAs®.
